The masserie Caloveri and Stomei are somewhere else!<\/p>\n
I have been in every one and remember them<\/p>\n
like a beautiful dream I\u2019ll never forget.<\/p>\n

Caloveri and Stomei! I remember one summer<\/p>\n
I often went there by bicycle.<\/p>\n
And grandmother Ronzina, who owned the masseria Mienzi,<\/p>\n
never let me go home without taking something with me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But we also know that little has remained<\/p>\n
of what was once a beautiful place.<\/p>\n
So the Jesuits have all collapsed<\/p>\n
and have lost the glimmer of years gone by.<\/p>\n

I was never keen on going to the masseria Carrare<\/p>\n

I was always happy to go again.<\/p>\n
My father took me there to buy wheat<\/p>\n
that way I met a man who was very Christian.<\/p>\n

He showed me the cows, the horses and the donkeys<\/p>\n
and he also showed me the mbili <\/em>and the tristieddi<\/em>.<\/p>\nHe let me taste the whey and the ricotta<\/p>\n
and he always treated me like his own son.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I know this place has always existed<\/p>\n
it once offered refreshments to the horse-station for mail of the past.<\/p>\n
Horses and stagecoaches coming from afar<\/p>\n
found someone to help them here.<\/p>\n

The years have now gone by and all has been renewed:<\/p>\n
the place is clean and everything is tidy.<\/p>\n
If you go to see now it\u2019s all quite different:<\/p>\n
you can take a holiday and even get married.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But the beauty of this \u201cmasseria\u201d remains<\/p>\n
and also the doctors are so courteous.<\/p>\n
However, I also think (and that\u2019s right!)<\/p>\n
